Amelie Bardseley

Amélie was lucky enough to have made her West End debut, at age 11 in the final cast of the original production of ‘Billy Elliot The musical’, as Ballet Girl, Karen Davidson (Victoria Palace Theatre). Whilst in Billy Elliot she appeared on Ant & Dec’s ‘Saturday Night Take Away’ (ITV). Also as a child actor, Amélie performed in 5 seasons of Hackney Empire pantomime, which really shaped her as a young performer, soaking up the guidance of actors and creatives she worked with there, especially Sharron D Clarke, Susie McKenna and Clive Rowe.

Amelie was thrilled to gain a place to train at The BRIT School of Performing Arts, where she studied Musical Theatre for four years. Along side her main course of MT she studied Film A level and managed to win the award for the best short film in her category at the end of year awards (sponsored by Netflix).

Amélie is very creative, enjoying the process of writing, directing, choreographing and staging shows and Films making as well as acting in both genre. She was lucky to have the opportunity to do all of this whilst at BRIT School, working on many projects creatively, notably, with a small team, producing, directing and staging the legendary annual BRIT Drag Show, workshopping creatively a new project with industry giants, Nick Skilbeck and Phyllida Lloyd and singing at the Brit Awards Industry Dinner.

Other industry experience includes Casting Assistant for Debbie O’Brien, Junior Agent Assistant for TMG London, both providing an eye opening industry insight.

Since leaving The BRIT School, Amelie Filmed a short film – ‘See it, Say it’ for BFI & Amazon Prime. Amélie played the role of Sonny Smith in Slavey (Southern Counties Drama Festival), Disaster Class’ first production. This gained her a Best Actress Nomination.

Amelie is currently focused on developing her Comedy Characters and writing her Stand Up act and on line series. Having successfully performed her first gig, she is now looking to build on that.
